Job Description
Job Duties:
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Install forms and ensure quality control of formwork.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware
- Maintain, repair and renovate wooden structures in residences and other establishments
- Work with other apprentices and other construction workers
- Communicate with Carpenter Foreman regarding any concerns, discrepancies, or alterations that may arise during construction to a building
- Other duties as assigned
Specific Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to work with hand and power carpentry tools and other construction equipment
- Ability to assess situations and identify potential hazards
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
- Handling heavy loads; Physically demanding; Bending, Crouching, Kneeling; Standing for extended periods.

- Hardworking; Eager to continue developing skills; Detail oriented
Terms of Employment:
- $34.65 per hour
- Full-time 40 hours per week, overtime as required
- 4% vacation pay
