Type of Position: Permanent, full time

Job Duties:
• Prepare and key in correspondence and legal documents related to immigration applications to Canada from handwritten copy, shorthand and machine dictation using computers.
• Review and proofread documents and correspondence to ensure compliance with legal procedures and grammatical usage.
• Schedule appointments, meetings and conferences for employer.
• Set up and maintain filing systems, utilizing knowledge of legal records and procedures and frequently controlling confidential materials and documents.
• Open and distribute regular and electronic incoming mail and other material and co-ordinate the flow of information internally and with other departments or organizations.
• Determine and establish office procedures and routines.
• May supervise and train other staff in procedures and in the use of current software.
• May perform other general office work as required.
• Support the company’s Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs) in the preparation and submission of immigration applications including work permits, study permits and permanent residency.
• Prepare Retainer Agreements and proposals as per company’s standards.
• Management of multiple files from initiation to completion.
• Prepare and proofread correspondence, forms submission letters and other documents.
• Respond to client enquiries via email, telephone, and in-person.
• Communicate with clients to obtain documents required for applications and provide feedback.
• Conduct research on immigration programs, policies, and case law.

Skills Required:
• Knowledge of government portals and online submissions
• Able to build strong client relationships
• Ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms
• Able to effectively communicate and work cross-culturally with international candidates and their families
• High attention to detail
• Able to work with minimum or no supervision

Experience Required:
• 6 months of experience

Education Required:
• College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years

Wage & Hours: $ 52,000
• Number of hours per day: 8
• Number of days per week: 5
• Number of hours per week: 40
• Overtime starts after how many hours: 44
